AD:Anoikis Division

Anoikis: Etymology - Ancient Greek ἄνοικος (ánoikos, “homeless wanderer”)
Introduction – What is the Anoikis Division and what do we do?
Often people will ask what the Anoikis Division (AD) is and what we do. This document covers essential facts about the AD.
AD members live and operate out of J-space. Our activities are really not so different than those undertaken in known space. However, living in J-space provides its own set of challenges…constantly changing ingress/egress routes, sporadic access to trade-hubs and known space jump clones, and constant danger from PVP-focused pilots and corps.
So why join?
You’ll be part of a group within Signal Cartel living and operating from structures in J-space designed to facilitate a life outside of known space and provide you with a variety of opportunities to expand on your knowledge and exploration of New Eden. Hopefully, you’ll learn and experience some new things and have fun in the process!
The Wormhole and Services
The wormhole where we reside is a C3. Presently, the AD has two structures: an Athanor Refinery and a Raitaru Engineering Complex. There is a Clone Bay, Reprocessing, Manufacturing and other Industrial modules/rigs, Repair services, and Insurance. There are no fees for members using the Clone Bay and the industrial services.
What can you do there?
- The explorer’s mainstay of scanning and hacking of data/relic sites.
- PVE Combat: Sleeper sites and other NPCs in our wormhole, as well as other systems accessed through connecting wormholes.
- Planetary Interaction (PI): The wormhole has several planets and can produce, up to and including, P4 products.
- Mining: Random spawns of ore, ice fields and gas clouds within and outside of our wormhole. We also have a moondrill for extraction of moon ore for mining.
- Industrial: Manufacturing and reprocessing. Other industrial services, such as Research, Invention, Reactions, are available.
- Participation in Signal Cartel's Search and Rescue (SAR) and Eve-Scout Rescue Cache (ESRC) programs.
The AD has its own Tripwire mask, in-game chat channel, forum section, and Discord channels. The use of the AD Tripwire mask while operating from our wormhole is mandatory. Instructions on how to access the AD Tripwire mask will be provided in your welcome mail. Access to our structure services is limited to Signal Cartel members who have the Anoikis Division member title and their authorized alts.
While exploration is mostly a solo activity, we do expect member participation in groups activities, when possible, and active in the AD chat channel.
The AD is its own community within the Signal Cartel community. We work together to ensure the success of the AD and our community as a whole. We help each other when we can and treat each other with respect.
Eligibility to Join
The requirements to join the AD are:
(1) C2 status and 180+ days (continuous) as a member of Signal Cartel
(2) A strong active presence in the Signal Cartel community
(3) A working knowledge of Tripwire
(4) Demonstrated ESRC activity (100 tends/sows minimum)
(5) A working knowledge of wormhole mechanics
(6) An interview with the division manager, Tamayo.
Any questions regarding C2 status, please review: Member Levels: C1/C2 Titles
You should not consider joining the AD just for something new to do or checking a box on your 'bucket list'.
The Anoikis Division is a service provided to Signal Cartel for our pilots to experience living and operating from structures in J-space. Membership in Signal Cartel does not guarantee membership in the AD.
If you have an alt(s), whether in SC or non-SC, that you want to have access to the AD structures, you must discuss with Tamayo. Non-SC alts must be members of an NPC corporation unless discussed with Tamayo. If your NPC alt wants to join a player corporation, you must discuss with Tamayo prior to joining. Any AD member found using unauthorized alts within the AD WH will be removed from the division.
Please make sure you have been authorized on Discord.
Subscription Fees
The subscription fee are as follows:
- Omega character is 30 Million ISK per month
- Alpha character is 20 Million ISK per month
For players with alts in the AD WH:
- A flat-fee of 60 Million ISK per month for Omega-main which includes your alts - 4 alts maximum
- A flat-fee of 40 million ISK per month for Alpha-main which includes your alts - 3 alts maximum.
When you join the AD, your subscription fee begins on the 1st of the following month that you joined. Example: if you joined on any day in June, your initial monthly subscription fee would not be due until July 1st for the month of July. Then due on the 1st of the following months for that month. The monthly fee allows the division to cover fuel and other operational costs, and make a small profit for supplies and future assets.
To pay your subscription fee:
- People & Places. Select Corp. Search for Signal Cartel. Right click on the Signal Cartel icon and select "Give Money". Use your main character for transactions.
- Select the "Account" section - "Anoikis Fund". (Your subscription fee is paid directly to the corp wallet account “Anoikis Fund.)
- Type in the appropriate amount (pressing tab adds commas to typed number).
- Tab to the remark field and enter the information "Subscription (month) (year) + alts (if applicable)" (Example: "Subscription March 2020 + alts").
- Click OK.
Note: If you select the incorrect corp wallet account, it will be viewed as a donation to that account and will not be credited towards your monthly subscription fee.
Membership will be monitored on a month-by-month basis as subscriptions are paid. Anyone who does not pay their subscription two months in a row forfeits their division membership and will be removed from AD. On the first of each month, I will post a subscription reminder on Discord. If you leave the AD on your own accord, we request that you take all of your assets with you. If you are going to be “AFK” from the game for an extended period of time, please let management know.
Note: If you are removed from the AD for not paying dues or leave/kicked from Signal Cartel, the AD is not responsible for your assets in the AD wormhole. In addition, if you are removed from the AD for not paying dues or leave Signal Cartel, you are not guaranteed a place back in the AD.
Residency and Activity
The Anoikis Division is a service provided to Signal Cartel for our pilots to experience living, exploring and operating from structures in wormhole space.
It is expected that the Signal Cartel AD member character uses the AD WH as their base of operations. Members are also expected to support the AD and participate in AD group activities, when possible.
AD Members should not view the AD WH solely as a base for their or their alt’s industry activities, such as PI.
All AD members must be logged into the SC AD chat channel when in game.
Prefix your ship name(s) with [1420.]
Paying dues is not a guarantee of continued membership in the AD. If you are determined to not be a good fit, you will be removed!!
Ground Rules
The ground rules for the division should be adhered to at all times. They are as follows:
- The Signal Cartel Corp Credo applies to all division members. The Credo also applies to your non-Signal Cartel alts (authorized AD alts or otherwise) while operating, using our stations or flying in the AD wormhole. Any member or their alt(s) engaging in PVP, other than in self-defense, or other non-Credo complaint activities, will be removed from the AD.
- Anoikis Division Credo
In addition to the Signal Cartel Corp Credo which applies to all division members, the following is the Anoikis Division's position for assisting members operating in our wormhole, who are being attacked by other players:
The entirety of the AD wormhole system will be considered as “on the grid”
Any SC AD members active in the AD wormhole. may assist any SC AD members anywhere in the system. This does not include assisting alts of SC AD members operating in the wormhole, unless in a fleet.
Prohibited:
- Docking, re-shipping and undocking to assist
- If you are docked in a station, undocking a ship to assist
- Using a non-SC alt to assist, whether active in the system or docked. Unless the alt is in a fleet with AD members.
- Logging in an SC character to assist
- Combat ship ‘escorts’ for mining, Gas Huffing, or PI operations
- Requesting assistance from any non-AD members, who may be present in connecting wormholes or systems
- The above is to insure the optics of Signal Cartel’s complete neutrality. So that it is clear to any third-parties who enter our wormhole that we are not using out of corp pilots as surrogate defenders nor are we setting up traps or bait-like situations in the wormhole by Signal Cartel members.
- Don't bring non-Anoikis Division players (including other Signal Cartel Members) into the wormhole for PVE or other activities without prior approval of the Anoikis Division Manager. This rule is intended to help mitigate security issues and, while security through obscurity is not security, advertising our activities just draws undesirable attention.
Other:
- Actions in the wormhole should be announced in the AD chat channel, such as your ship undocking/docking, probe launching/retrieval and other ship activities. Intel requests should be responded to promptly, if able. Good communication is key at times, and this small action fosters good relations. Examples: Player - “My Helios undocking”, Player - “My probes out”, Player - “My Epithal entering the AD WH” and similar such dialogue.
- Don't bring any assets into the hole that you are not prepared to lose. Unlike NPC stations, our structures are vulnerable to attack and potential loss of the division’s and your assets. The Signal Cartel Credo and corp policy forbids us to bring fleets or hire fleets to defend our structures, if attacked. We consider structures to be lost the moment we anchor them. It is your responsibility to protect your assets.
- The Corp Hangars – Shared Stuff. Assets in the Shared Stuff containers are for general use by all members, including ships. However, don’t take ships that you know are not yours without asking. Donations of supplies are always welcome. ESRC supplies and Station Containers are kept in the ESRC Inventory Hangar.
- Critical Mass/Rolling Wormholes. The use of high-mass ships are permitted for the purposes of (1) setting a wormhole to ‘Critical Mass’ to deter visitors to the hole and maintain safety during group wormhole activities, and (2) rolling a wormhole when the connection could be detrimental to activities (for example, a HS connection leads to system with war targets while we’re at war). These activities should only be undertaken after consultation and agreement with the division members who are online at the time.
- OPSEC – Keep the ID of our wormhole and the day’s NS static confidential. Only discuss this information with other AD members and authorized alts using our secure channels. It is the only measure of security we have to keep the location of our wormhole private. This is why we have, and use, our own Tripwire mask.
- When you join, your welcome mail will contain the information to access the AD WH, AD Chat Channel and other necessary AD tools and resources.
- Pertinent information for members is provided in the MoTD of the AD chat channel. Please review when you log in.
- Please monitor our Anoikis Discord channel and Forums for announcements and important information.
- We also have AD swag through the EvE-Scout/Signal Cartel Swag Store.
Summary
I would like to sincerely thank all of my predecessors who created the Anoikis Division and salute their hard work in developing and growing this outstanding program. I am humbled to be the AD Manager. Remember, there is no endgame to this wormhole adventure, only continued evolution for as long as evolution allows. The scope remains for the Anoikis Division to become something greater beyond its original intention, while retaining the strong foundations that we’re building on. We will lose ships, we will scan down and hack sites, Sleepers will be killed, and Bob will be appeased. But, with cooperation and effort, we can achieve great things while having a lot of fun. You just have to come along for the ride! Cheers! Tamayo Anoikis Division Manager
