Signaleers are encouraged to create an in-game biography (aka bio) for their character.

What is a Character Biography?[edit]

In EVE Online, your character biography is the written public profile you present to New Eden. Much like your avatar and character name, a bio allows you to tell your character's story and explain their background and in-game allegiances in as little or as much detail as you desire.

Bio Guidelines[edit]

  • Aldar Roanaok, Signal Cartel CEO, offers this excellent advice: "The Credo is central to everything we do. As part of our “Code of Conduct”, we have a family-friendly language policy that includes the general text in a bio as well as links placed there as well. Character bios should also reflect the neutral nature of Signal Cartel. This entails avoiding declarations of support for in and out of game political entities or disparaging comments about certain playstyles in-game."[1]

How Do I Edit My Bio?[edit]

  • Your character's bio is accessed via the Character Sheet by clicking on your character's portrait in the top left corner of the in-game UI.
    • Biography is found under the Character tab.
  • The bio text can be customized through various text effects and styling. Additionally, some users get creative and incorporate various internal links, URLs, and even ASCII art.
    • To create an internal link, click and drag the object into the text area.
  • Note that the text you type in the Biography area will be publically displayed to other capsuleers when they view your character information.

Does Signal Cartel Provide Boilerplate (Template) Bios for Members?[edit]

  • In a word, no.
  • Mynxee, Signal Cartel co-founder and original CEO, had this to say: "I would be disinclined to provide a boilerplate for Signaleers to use since I believe that composing one's own bio is more in keeping with the personal internalization of the Credo that we encourage."[2]
