This is the current outline I used for my fleet. I expect it to mature with more fleets. It also includes actions the FC takes before the fleet assembles and that is covered in the "pre-fleet assembly" section. It is my sincere hope that others who step into the FC role will find this useful and one less thing to try to think up in their fleet planning.
Pre fleet assembly[edit]
- Fleet up with the Scouts
- Add each Scout to the following ACLs
- Fleet Ops Members
- Fleet Ops Scouts
- Fleet Ops Commanders can be used if 2 scouts are in the same system. Grant the affected pilots until they are done then remove them from this ACL.
- Share the Fleet Ops - Fleet folder with the Scouts
- Find the system(s) to run for this fleet
- Scouts, make sure there are 4 Safes in each WH/NS system along our route. Label these RP1-RP4
- Scouts, label each WH entrance to the designated site(s) as WH Inbound
- This may be WH Inbound A and WH Inbound B if we have options - Scouts, label each WH exit from the designated site(s) as WH Outbound
- This may be WH Outbound Main and WH Outbound Alternate if we have options - Please bookmark any anomalies that are Unsecure or Forgotten.
Intro[edit]
- This is a doctrine fleet and only ships that meet doctrine will be allowed to fly with us.
- SRP is authorized with the following caveats
- Any faction or better mods will be reimbursed at T2 pricing
- Any non-doctrine ship (command ship for example) needs prior approval from FC and a staff member of FOD

- Any loot/salvage from the fleet actions will be turned over to the FC, or a designee, at the conclusion of the fleet action
- FC will then ensure it is contracted to the buy-back program and upon receiving the cash will split it equally among members with FOD being a silent member. I.e.: If we have a fleet of 19, everyone will get a 1/20th cut and FOD will get a 1/20th cut.
- You may opt to remove yourself from the computation (reducing the count by 1) or tag your share as a donation to any program in SC.
- Please turn off/shut down Tripwire
Comms etiquette[edit]
- This is a training fleet, I expect chatter among everyone
- When talking to the FC/WC/etc, say you name and your action. Example: Skysong, dropping MTU.
- Do not ask if the WH/Gate is Green or Red. Instead, ask “FC, Gate color?” or “FC, jump color?”
- Scout +1 will give FC info on gate or hole status by saying "gate clear", "Venture on D-scan", or "Neutrals on Grid".
- FC will then give the gate colour and/or jump, jump, jump command
- Unless directed otherwise, always hold gate and WH cloak once jumped until FC gives the next command.
- FC will repeat certain commands 3 times so it is not confused with using that command word/phrase in a sentence.
- A couple of examples:
- Undock, undock, undock
- Jump, jump, jump
- Leave, leave, leave (GTFO to RP1)
- A couple of examples:
- Command = Hold Comms: If FC, or any other member, calls for silence , please stop talking
- Command = Flash, flash, flash (plus message): Usually done by a scout - please stop talking as we have possible incoming
Movement[edit]
- FC will call out a target (Gate, BM, etc) and have you align
- Once done, FC will fleet warp the fleet
- Movement to a gate will be at 0km in most cases
- The gate is ALWAYS red (do not jump) until the FC gives jump command
- At all gates and WHs, you must jump yourself, the FC cannot do that action
- Scouts, please exempt yourself from fleet warp unless you are travelling in the fleet
- Once in the target WH, salvage and scouts, please exempt yourself from fleet warp
- FC will have you align to a signature then FC will fleet warp - usually to 30km of the signature. This may put us in the thick of things, this may put us 100km away from targets.
Unexpected guests (a work in progress)[edit]
- Stay together as a fleet. Period.
- FC will decide if the fleet is fighting or doing a GTFO
- In the case of a fight, stay on grid, treat it as a Sleeper site, follow tagged targets, fight as a fleet
- In the case of a GTFO, FC will Fleet warp, unaligned, to a Rally Point (safe) OR tell the fleet to make best speed to a book marked Rally Point (RP)..
- If the fleet warp does not take, warp yourself to the assigned RP.
- Wing/Squad leaders do an immediate roll call to make sure everyone is with us.
- Each system we run will have 3 or 4 RPs (safes) and we will bounce until we get an all clear from a scout for an exit
- We will repeat this exercise until we are back in HS/LS
Overview and other settings[edit]
- The tags column must be visible
- Capsules must be hidden
- It is suggested that DPS wing hide fleet members from overview to avoid accidental blue-on-blue.
- FC suggests you sort on the type column, make sure the arrow points down
- Make sure you have a fleet action/combat setting for your overview (ZS Overview or Eve Uni is good for this)
- We will undock at the appropriate time and take a few minutes to make sure everyone is setup.
- WCs and/or volunteers, please help the new bros with this.
- Please turn off "Auto Taget Back"

Drones[edit]
- Drones are to be set to Passive and focus fire on.

Fleet organization[edit]
- DPS
- DPS *may* be split into 2 wings or squads
- WC or SC will be the anchor
- Add your WC/SC to the Watch list
- Wing 1 Commander is the main anchor
- Wing 2 Commander, add WC1 to your watch list
- For fleet actions, each wing will orbit their WC at 2000-5000m
- For fleet actions, WC 2 will orbit WC 1 at 2000-5000m
- The WC, as anchor, is responsible with closing on the trigger ( marked with an X ) and making sure all members have ABs on and drones out.
- WC - Select one of the triggers and Orbit at 500m *(input anyone?)*
- The WC, as anchor, is responsible for correcting fire control if a member is shooting at the wrong target (you see target 2 taking damage and target 1 is still alive just say something like “1 please, Target 1 please”.)
- No, the fleet is not splitting apart. :)
- Logi
- Logi will be a single wing with a single anchor
- Logi will be assigned to each wing
- Any special instructions will come from the Logi Wing Commander and may involve changing voice channels for that brief.
- Salvage/loot
- For a salvager with the basic skills and fit:
- In each site, one pilot with an MTU will be designated as being in the Hot Seat. As soon as the first wave is off the board, the Hot Seat will drop and BM the MTU (see bookmarks below).
- Salvager, come into the combat site where you are comfortable, or wait at the designated RP until we clean the first site.
- You will be on your own after this so don’t hesitate to send a Flash comm if you have uninvited guests.
- For a salvager with high skills and a more advanced fit
- The FC will allow you to carry multiple MTUs removing this need from all of the DPS members. FC and WC *may* carry one or more MTUs.
- Carry out salvage and MTU drop & collection as works for you.
- FC & WC will have access to the Fleet Ops MTUs Folder and it would be appreciated to have each MTU bookmarked there just in case we lose the salvager to unfriendly situations.
- For a salvager with the basic skills and fit:
- Scouts
- There is a dedicated scouting wiki page
- You are responsible for watching our backs once we are in the designated WH system.
- 15 minute updates in the Scouts chat channel (in-game)
- All clear
- WH collapsed
- Flash message in voice if more than 2 ships come in through the WH you are watching. (Observation Post or OP)
- Stay cloaked
- If we are short on scouts, you may need to run a pickett line between WHs.
- If we get jumped, one scout will be responsible for creating RPs in the next WH or NS system, if not already done.
- FC would like a +1 and +2 in WH/NS space and a +1 in LS/HS space.
Basic Sleeper mechanics[edit]
- We will be using Grubu's Maintained Nolak's Updated Karr's Modified Rykki's Guide 1.5.
- FC will tag targets using the age old sequence of 1, 2, 3, A, B, C, X, X.
- DO NOT SHOOT ANY TARGET WITH AN X TAG!!
- DO NOT ENGAGE TARGETS UNTIL AT LEAST THE 1, 2, 3 TAG IS UP - TAKES ABOUT 3 SECONDS TO SHOW.
- If you are Yellow Boxed, request Armor Reps from Logi! Do not wait until you are Red Boxed or taking shield damage.
Book marks[edit]
- FC must add all fleet members to the Fleet Ops Fleets Members ACL at this time
- With the new bookmark system, FC needs you to offline all but the Signal Cartel shared folder**.
- FC is dropping 2 folders in fleet chat - Fleet Ops - Fleet and Fleet Ops - MTUs**.
- Click on each and make sure Online is checked and accept each
- Fleet Ops - Fleet folder is read only. You will be able to warp to any of the active bookmarks in this folder.
- Fleet Ops - MTUs folder has been opened to those pilots with MTUs.
- When saving a MTU BM, please do so in this shared folder and not a personal folder.
- All fleet members have read and warp to permissions, MTU pilots have save permissions and can edit their own BMs.
- When you pick up your MTU, please remove the bookmark from the shared folder.
- Check out the MTU protocol.
Roll call[edit]
- X up in fleet chat
- Make sure all members are done before the next step
- Those pilots with MTUs, type “MTU” in fleet chat
- FC, add each MTU pilot to the FOD MTUs ACL.
Any other Q&A[edit]
This segment is to be continued through the entire fleet action! The only time Q&A should not happen is when a Flash message is inbound or the FC (or fleet member) calls for radio silence.
Undock, undock, undock[edit]
- We will take a few minutes to check our settings and answer questions on overview setup for fleet action.
- For general overview, ask for, or sign up for a class from SCA (SC Academy). This is a great way to get the basic setup, explore one of the several overview packs and get familiar with what the overview does and its configuration.
After fleet is done[edit]
- FCs collect the loot (you or a designated person)
- FCs, have a FOD staff member on hand to trade in loaner ships.
- FCs, open the shared folders and delete all bookmarks.
