How to Create a Fleet Announcement

Please read and incorporate the following information into your Fleet Announcement. Organizing fleets takes a lot of work and coordination. The following template will hopefully allow you to easily communicate all the relevant facts in an understandable and consistent manner. Thank you FC!

NOTE: If you are announcing a fleet sponsored and sanctioned by our Fleet Ops Division (FOD), please also refer to this additional information.

Fleet Announcement Template

  1. Create a new post in the 🗪ready-room Discord forum channel.
  2. Copy the raw Markdown text in the gray box below and edit to suit.
    1. The text inside the square brackets should all be replaced.
    2. Be careful about two-space breaks at the end of lines.
  3. Use a time zone converter. See below for more info.
    1. Always use 24-hour UTC aka "EVE Time"
    2. Paste the link to the time zone converter as well.
    3. If the fleet day is different in UTC than your local time zone because of wrap, make sure you account for it in the announcement to avoid confusion.
    4. The in-game EVE Year can be obtained by adding 102 to the last three digits of the out-of-game year: 2023 is YC125, for example.

Time Zone Converter

Fleet announcements are always posted in UTC aka "EVE Time". This avoids confusion when Signaleers from different time zones want to partake in your fleet. There are a few well known time converters that you can use. However, here are a couple of the easiest:

  • Dateful Time Zone Converter
    • Simple to use and has a "copy link" button
  • Nakamura Time
    • EVE specific and shows multiple time zones simultaneously
    • Note that you have to copy the URL from the address bar in order to share your link

Don't Forget to Promote It!

You want fellow Signaleers to show up, right?! Well if you do, read this.
