=====Mass destabilization=====
As ships jump through, the size of the eye will shrink. Unfortunately, in empty space, there is no object of reference to compare the size of the eye to, so this is very hard to spot. 
It is generally visible if witnessing the moment when the size changes as a ship goes through and the wormhole's information is the quickest source of information available.

But if you use the "Look At" function when you select the wormhole in your overview, you'll set your point of view at a fixed distance and then you'll be able to notice how unusually small the "eye" of the wormhole appears to be on your screen as long, as you do not zoom in or out.
