== What is Faction Warfare (FW) ==
Factional warfare is semi-organized PVP that allows players to sign up with one of the four main NPC empires (or player corporations aligned with that empire) and then fight against players from the opposing empires. As CCP prioritizes FW content and events, the FW landscape contains a couple of new and notable features: 
* [https://www.eveonline.com/news/view/the-path-to-war Direct Enlistment] which allows participation in FW without leaving your current corp or alliance.
* Factional Campaigns such as the [https://www.eveonline.com/news/view/patch-notes-version-21-03#h2-4 Shipcaster Shadow War] event which includes PVE sites that trigger a [https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/203268571-Suspect-Timer Suspect Timer].   

== Policy ==
* Signal Cartel members are not eligible for FW through Direct Enlistment, and our corp has taken steps to prevent Signaleers from inadvertently enlisting through the in-game mechanic.  FW is an obvious declaration of intent to wage war on other players and is thus not [[Policy:The_Credo|Credo-compliant]].
* In general, FW PVE sites that trigger a Suspect Timer are '''off-limits''' due to their potentially negative impact on our neutrality and reputation. As such, as of May 2023, all Shadow War PVE sites are off-limits except for:
** Vila Allopoiesis Nexus' (found in Pochven)
** Nesosilicate Rakovene Fields (also found in Pochven)
