The Role of Scouts[edit]

  1. To escort the fleet into and out of the target system through K-space and J-space, avoiding conflict.
  2. To monitor routes into the target system visually and by D-scan
  3. To give FC early warning of threats along with a threat-level assessment
  4. To help find wormholes pre-fleet
  5. To scan and bookmark key sites in the WH including safe places and perches
  6. To scan and evaluate new signatures during fleet.
  7. To combat scan any misplaced MTUs
  8. To scan an exit in the event that the exit is lost
  9. To hack cans in relic and data sites (particularly talocan cans in combat sites and silent battlegrounds in shattered wormholes)

Scout Wing Composition and Fitting Guidelines[edit]

  • At least 3 ships
  • Ideal hulls are Astero, Pacifier, T2 Covops, Stratios (too large for C13s)
  • All should be cloaky, ideally with a covops cloak
  • At least one should have a data/relic analyzer in a mid slot.
  • At least one should have an expanded probe launcher with combat scan probes.
  • The remainder should have a scan strength of at least 105, maximised using sisters launchers, probes and scan rangefinding arrays.
  • Warp speed should be at least 5AU/s
  • Align times should be less than 2 seconds
  • All scouts should carry a Noise-25 Needlejack filament, rescue cache supplies, nanite repair paste and a mobile depot.
