Sites of Anoikis : C3 Systems
Background[edit]
With the appearance of unstable wormholes in YC111 the small galaxy of Anoikis opened up to capsulers. After a period of time CONCORD settled on a classification system for the various systems located in this “wormhole space”. Ranging from C1 to C6, the standard wormhole systems see progressively more deadly, and interesting, sites.
Expedition Highlights[edit]
Wormholes, Sleepers, and Drifters[edit]
The Anoikis galaxy lacks stargate links between stellar systems. In place of static links, as in New Eden, randomly shifting wormholes provide connections between stars. These links are by their nature short lived and random leading to an ever shifting stellar landscape.
Within Anoikis there are two main classes of sites - Anomalies and Cosmic Signature. Anomalies can be reached simply by warping to the site. Cosmic Signatures, on the other hand, require scan probes and a reasonable probe strength to isolate from the background noise.
When modern humans reached Anoikis they found that others had already been here for millennia. The majority of sites appear related to the Sleepers. An ancient Jovian offshoot, believed to have originated during the crisis of the 1st Empire, has sites scattered across Anoikis. A few sites, however, appear associated with the Talocan. These enigmatic human offshoots were masters of spatial manipulation and hypereuclidian mathematics. Where the Talocan are now is a mystery.
It should be mentioned that closely associated with Sleepers are the Drifters. Drifters, apparently modeling themselves after the 2nd Jovian Empires Tyrants, can appear in Anoikis and present a clear and present danger at all times.
Entering and moving about Anoikis[edit]
Ship Recommendations and General Travel Advisory[edit]
While EvE-Scout’s Thera service can provide entry and exit information to wormhole systems, the brief and random nature of these links makes travel into Anoikis in a non-scanning ship perilous.
Signal Cartel recommends visitors use either a Zephyr or some sort of covert ship like the Heron, Astero, Helios or Stratios. The ability to scan and cloak is invaluable in both finding systems and cosmic signatures. Furthermore, a cloak is an excellent tool for avoiding encounters with Sleepers, Drifters, or Capsuleers.
The Zephyr allows for pilots to remain uncloaked in Sleeper sites and to enjoy flying in formation with the guardian drones. The ship is fragile and provides only a probe launcher. For unknown reasons Sleeper drones seem to accept this ship as one of their own. Drifter ships do not. Since the Zephyr does not allow cloaking, pilots should be alert at all times.
Travel within Anoikis, with its delayed local, can feel empty and ominous. Capsuleer corporations do attempt to enforce sovereignty within wormhole systems. To this end, fast moving interdictors, and static warp bubble modules, can be encountered. Signal Cartel recommends a positive attitude, clever flying, and active use of d-scan on wormhole exits and entrances.
The locals are almost always appreciative of a wave in local. o/
Combat Anomalies[edit]
Class 3 systems present 4 combat centric sites. Current capsule technology allows immediate identification of these sites and does not require any form of scanning.
Fortification Frontier Stronghold[edit]
This classic Sleeper Enclave structure hangs in the middle of a field of dancing globes of energy. The exact mechanism is unknown but the effect is both beautiful and melancholy. A small flotilla slides amongst the structure, lights, and a field of Veldspar asteroids
Outpost Frontier Stronghold[edit]
3 Argus class sentry towers and a Sleeper Battleship roam the quiet. The structure has decayed to the point where even the ship board computers report on the state of the coaxial ring modules making up the ruin. A massive stalagmite's cloud of outgassed materials glows in the starlight
Solar Cell[edit]
Shrouded by dust from the surrounding asteroids, this site holds a Sleeper Enclave partially ringed by the typical Thermoelectric Converters and Preservation conduits as well as a remarkable Sleeper Engineering station. A small, but potent, fleet plies the space between them
The Oruze Construct[edit]
This Sleeper structure not only makes reference to Oruze but the central enclave sits off of center. Whether it was intentional and to what end we can likely never know. Regardless the sentry towers and cruisers patrol endlessly
Data/Relic Cosmic Signatures[edit]
Requiring scanning equipment these sites tend to lie within 4 AU of the various celestial sites in Anoikis systems. The distinction between Data and Relic sites lies in the ancient remnants found scattered about the sites.
Data Sites[edit]
Unsecured Perimeter Database[edit]
The wreckage of a Sleeper Enclave floats in space still glowing with it's internal blue light. The presence of a large asteroid so close to the Sleeper Enclave raises interesting questions about how this site met its end.
Unsecured Frontier Receiver[edit]
Ruined Sleeper modules sit in a field of pyroxeres asteroids. Like almost all Sleeper sites it continues to be protected by a small fleet of frigates.
Relic Sites[edit]
Forgotten Frontier Quarantine Outpost[edit]
Sleeper frigates and cruisers hover over this site. The architecture is most definitely not the rounded organic look of the Sleepers. Instead the central tower and surrounding pylons resemble abandoned Talocan ships found elsewhere in Anoikis. Sleeper artifacts surround the sites but 2 Talocan Static gates glow in yellow and blue in the dark.
Forgotten Frontier Recursive Depot[edit]
A mixed cruiser and frigate fleet protect these Talocan ruins. A massive Talocan Polestar dominates the scene with a star-side observatory and three pairs of Coupling Arrays on the far side connecting to a now dead Static Gate. A small pocket of greenish gas loiters just off the static gate.
