From time to time, imposter corps and characters show up and attempt to impersonate either EvE-Scout or Signal Cartel corporations, or members of the Leadership Team. IN ALL SUCH CASES, the management asks that you:

1. Do not submit a support ticket to CCP yourself about it. Tickets from the Leadership Team will carry more weight. Besides this, we can provide a history of other imposter-related tickets/actions we have reported to support our case as needed.
2. Do not announce it in public venues such as our EvE-Scout in-game channel, the #explo-lounge Discord channel, Twitter, or elsewhere. Even announcing it in Alliance chat is not a good idea. All that it does is a) give the imposter attention if they are lurking, or b) encourage copycat behavior. Neither of these is desirable.
3. Simply report the imposter to Aldar Roanaok or Katia Sae via EVEmail or a private DM on our Discord. One of them will submit a ticket as appropriate.

The normal outcome of a successful ticket is that the corp or character is renamed to some generic name like EVE Corporation 12345678 or Caldari Citizen 12345678. Generally, we are not informed of this action; it just happens if the GMs feel our claim is legit.

Leadership appreciates your reports to us of those attempting to impersonate us or imply an affiliation in any way. If you eventually notice a name change for an imposter corp/character that you reported to us, please refrain from sharing any victory dance in our channels, Discord, etc. See item #2 above for why. The less attention of any kind given to troublemakers, the better.
