Clarifications

Here are some clarifications on what you should or should not do in a few diplomatically sensitive situations:

  • Avoid promises or suggestions to others about setting mutual blue standings. We prefer NOT to set standings toward other corps or alliances for various reasons you can read more about here. If someone brings the matter up with you, refer them to a member of the Leadership Team.
  • Do not request or expect docking rights or other favors for the corporation or yourself from anyone, nor ever suggest that because of who we are we should get special treatment. Doing so is highly presumptuous and does not reflect well on us or our neutrality. If someone offers, then accept graciously but remember there should be no strings attached.
  • If someone outside of Signal Cartel is rude to you or otherwise treats you poorly, all you need to know about how to respond is right there in our Credo: "In challenging situations, our goal is to look for a graceful resolution and set an example of dignity and friendship through our actions."
This means no trash-talking, calling people out publicly on their conduct, tattling to their corp leadership, or taking other vindictive action.
Refer the matter to Leadership (along with chat logs) if you feel it is warranted.
  • If someone outside Signal Cartel approaches you on a diplomatic matter, don't speak on our behalf except to politely inform them that you will pass the message on to the appropriate person (and tell them who that is if you know).
